Flu vaccine supplies are shrinking as Iowa and 47 other states are in the grips of a widespread influenza outbreak and flu shots are getting tougher to find in central Iowa.
There are still supplies of the vaccine available, Sarah Boese of the Polk County Health Department told KCCI.
Here are some places in the West Des Moines area that traditionally offer the vaccine:
- Walgreens, 4201 Westown Pkwy., 4900 Mills Civic Pkwy, 1600 22nd St. or 1990 Grand Ave.
- Dahl's Pharmacy, at 5003 E.P. True Pkwy. or 1208 Prospect Ave.

More information about flu outbreak in Iowa and across the nation is found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention web site.
