A Texas man was attempting to sell cleaning supplies when residents called police.

A Texas man was arrested Friday for trying to sell cleaning supplies in West Des Moines without a permit.

Steve Williams, 24, was allegedly selling cleaning products when he was stopped by officers, who asked to see his work permit. Williams had a permit for Urbandale and surrounding cities, but not West Des Moines.

Williams told officers he had assumed his Urbandale permit would be valid in West Des Moines.
