Valley Southwoods is Seeing Double

Valley Southwoods twins set Guinness world record.

has received official word from the Guinness Worlds Records office in London that it has successfully set the new Guinness World Records title for Most Twins in the Same Academic Year at One School, according to a press release.

Valley Southwoods has 16 sets of twins this year, something administrators didn’t realize until one of the twins’ parents brought it to their attention and they did some counting.

The previous record was 13 sets of twins at Pomperaug High School in Connecticut in 2009-10.

The twins are Hanna and Julia Anderson, Quintin and Mason Barr, Megan and Hannah Baysinger, Hannah and Noah Clark, Jade and Logan Davis, Roman and Giavanna Dean, Hunter and Carson Feldman, Anna and Samuel Freihage, Jacob and Jeffrey Goetz, Emma and Sara Goff, Cole and Logan Harvey, Emily and Allison Kacer, Joseph and Joshua McVey, Cole and Cory Mullins, Kaylee and Kyle Olson, and Kayla and Lauren Phalen.

Valley Southwoods Freshman High School has an enrollment of 711 students and houses one grade level – ninth grade. It opened in the fall of 1997 to serve students in their first year of high school in an interdisciplinary team setting.

Students begin the year with a "fresh start" and learn habits to help them succeed in their first year of high school and beyond. Students get to know each other and their teachers well, they have varied opportunities to practice leadership, and they are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
