BHHS First Realty BBQ Food Drive

BHHS First Realty Hosts Food Drive And Gives Back To The Community

 

West Des Moines, IA- In Iowa, over 300,000 people are food insecure. And 139,000 of those people are children. Berkshire Home Hathaway Home Services First Realty (BHHS First Realty) is teaming up with the community to help those in need.

To help address the problem, the BBQ Drive hosted by BHHS First Realty with help from Move For Hunger is taking place from July 1 to July 31. All month long, donations will be collected at their office. They are located at 5500 Westown Pkway Suite 120, West Des Moines, IA.

With the help of Prairie Van and Storage, all the donations collected with be brought to Lutheran Church of Hope West Des Moines, and at the end of the food drive, all the food will help out the local families and residents. And as an incentive, if 500lbs of food or more is collected, BHHS First Realty is going to host a BBQ for the residents to enjoy.

 

“We are excited for this food drive with BHHS First Realty,” says Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “And we can’t wait for the BBQ that I know they’re going to share with the community.”

 

While all non-perishable food donations are welcome, suggested donation items include, soups, rice, canned fruit, boxed meals, pasta, sauce, peanut butter, baby food, canned vegetables, fruit juice, and water.
