Council members to compete in bus-driving contest to promote DART Bus Roadeo
Des Moines, IA--DART officials announced that a bus-driving contest will be held Wednesday between West Des Moines City Council member Kevin Trevillyan and Windsor Heights City Council member Tony Timm to preview the 2014 DART Bus Roadeo on Saturday.
The public is invited to both events.

Event 1: Bus-driving contest

Council member Trevillyan and Council member Timm will each take a turn driving a 40-foot DART bus through a series of obstacles marked out in orange road cones. Their performance will be critiqued – and the number of crushed cones counted – by head judge and DART General Manager Elizabeth Presutti, who will declare a winner.
TIME: 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
DATE: Wednesday, June 4
LOCATION: Parking lot at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and 11th Street, Des Moines.
This serves as the preview event for the actual Roadeo event, which will take place
Event 2: 2014 DART Bus Roadeo
The 2014 DART Bus Roadeo will feature professional DART operators competing in the official roadeo course for a chance to advance to the state finals later this month in Davenport. Judges will assess their performance and awards will be presented to top finishers.
TIME: 7:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
DATE: Saturday, June 7
