DART routes detoured due to downtown fire

NOTE: This is based on a press release from the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority's University Avenue route to Valley West Mall (#3) and crosstown route to Valley West Mall and the Jordan Creek area (#52) are among the bus routes which have been detoured in the downtown area due to the Younkers fire in downtown Des Moines.

Several bus stops in the vicinity of the Younkers building are closed, and riders are advised to pick up and drop off at DART Central Station, which remains open.

Other detours are in effect for Routes 1, 4, 14, 15, 17 and 60. Details are available online at www.ridedart.com or by calling DART Customer Service at 515-283-8100.

Detours are subject to change based on additional street closures should they be deemed necessary by emergency responders. Updated information will continue to be posted to www.ridedart.com.
