DART routes serving West Des Moines affected by downtown DM detour

The number 52 DART bus route, which connects downtown Des Moines with Valley West Mall and the Jordan Creek Town Center area, the number 11 route which connects downtown with the Valley Junction area via Ingersoll Avenue and  the number 3 bus route which runs from downtown along University Avenue to Valley West Mall are among the DART bus routes which will be detoured off 7th Street in downtown Des Moines this week until a water main break in that area is repaired and 7th Street reopens to traffic.

Bus stops along 7th Street between Locust and Mulberry streets will be temporarily relocated as part of the detours, affecting bus stops for the LINK Shuttle, along with routes 52 and 3. Other routes affected include 1,  4, 14, 15, 17, 51 and 60. Riders who board or alight in this area can find detailed detour information, including temporary bus stop locations, online at www.ridedart.com or by calling DART Customer Service at 515-283-8100.

DART will be operating a temporary shuttle bus in this area to help riders connect with their buses. Additionally, all detoured routes will continue to operate out of DART Central Station, providing riders an alternative to their regular bus stops. Service is expected to run on or near to schedule during the detours.

Express Routes and the Downtown D-Line Shuttle are not affected by the detours and will remain on their regular routes through downtown Des Moines.
