DART Transit Routes Return to 7th Street in Downtown DM

The three Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority bus routes which serve West Des Moines from downtown are among the DART bus routes  which have returned to the partially reopened 7th Street in downtown Des Moines today following repair work to a water main break, according to a news release from the DART transit offices.

The temporary detours have ended and regular routing has been restored for routes 3, which runs out to Valley West Mall via University Avenue, 11, which serves the Valley Junction area and 52, which serves the Valley West Mall and Jordan Creek Town Center areas. Other routes which have been restored include the LINK Shuttle and Routes 1, 3, 14, 15, 17, 51 and 60. Minor schedule delays may be caused by traffic until the full four lanes of 7th Street reopen.

Temporary bus stops have closed. However, some permanent bus stops along 7th Street between Locust and Mulberry streets will remain closed until the far right-hand lane of 7th Street reopens. All routes continue to operate out of DART Central Station, providing riders an alternative to their regular bus stops.
