Juried Valley Junction Art Show Features 100 Iowa, Regional Artists

West Des Moines elementary students will also exhibit their artwork at Sunday's show.

The annual Spring Art Market, a juried art show featuring works by 100 Iowa and regional artists and craftspeople, will be held Sunday in Valley Junction as the historic shopping district kicks its busy spring and summer events season into high gear.

Booths will line Fifth Street, the heart of the district, the Historic Valley Junction Foundation said in a news release.

A wide variety of items will be available at this juried art show, including paintings, prints, sculpture, photography, pottery, jewelry, furniture, clothing, stained glass, fiber and much more.  Visitors will be able enjoy artists’ demonstrations and live music as well.

Historic Valley Junction is six square blocks of antique and specialty shops, art galleries, fashion boutiques, hair salons, service businesses, and restaurants. Many of these businesses will be open to the public during Art Market.

The Art Market will be held rain or shine. Admission is free.  The event would not be possible without the generosity of the sponsor, West Bank, the Valley Junction Foundation said.
