Open House: Iowa Playwrights Workshop Winner — In this Tallgrass Theatre Company production, a college-aged son and his on-again, off-again girlfriend arrive unexpectedly at his parent's home on the morning of a historic-home tour. The family find themselves faced with the sudden demand that they make decisions about life, love and family - decisions that they are not fully prepared to make.

Shop for a Cure — This vendor sale and bake sale will help a family struggling with cancer. Runs from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 at the West Des Moines Community Center, 217 Fifth St. No cost to attend.

The Book of Mormon- Nine 2011 Tony Awards® say it's the Best Musical of the Year. Vogue says, "It's the funniest musical of all time." And The New York Times says, "It's the best musical of this century." It's THE BOOK OF MORMON, the Broadway phenomenon from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez. The Daily Show's Jon Stewart calls it "So good, it makes me angry." Contains explicit language.

Fleetwood Mac Tickets: Tickets for the seventies super group’s "Fleetwood Mac Live 2013" tour stop in the metro this summer go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. The group will be at Wells Fargo Arena on June 26.

High Life Lounge Celebrates Groundhog Day: 
The High Life Lounge holds its ninth annual Groundhog Day Grand Opening Celebration Saturday morning. Polk County Paula will look for her shadow at 7:30 a.m. and make her prediction about when winter ends. Free Miller High Life will be given out from 6 to 8 a.m. and Mr. Baber’s Neighbors performs at 10 a.m. Breakfast specials will be served until 11 a.m., including biscuits and gravy ($4), Quiche Paula ($4) and all-you-can-eat-pancakes ($5).

Bike Ride to Rippey: 
The 24-mile round trip takes riders from Perry to Rippey and back, and is held no matter what the weather conditions are. The new Raccoon River Bike Shop, next door to the Hotel Pattee in Perry, will have its grand opening Saturday.

Skywalk Golf Classic: 
Mini golf returns to downtown with tee times starting at 8 a.m. in the Kaleidoscope at the Hub, 555 Walnut St. The tournament has two courses and is open to singles, doubles and foursomes. Prizes are awarded with each hole-in-one.

Charlotte's Web: 
Theatrework's production of Charlotte's Web brings the timeless story to life 12:30 p.m. Friday at Stephen's Auditorium. Tickets are just $5 at the door.

Zoo Zoo: 
Tickets are still available for Zoo Zoo, 2 p.m. Sunday at Stephens Auditorium. The show was described as a cross between Cirque du Soeil and Peking Acrobats in Applause magazine. Mimes, dancers and acrobats combine to bring zoo animals to life. The show is recommended for ages 3 on up. Tickets range from $12 to $20. 

West Side Story: 
The greatest love story of all time, “West Side Story” is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Stephen's Auditorium. This is a revival of Arthur Larents' Broadway version. Tickets range from $28 to $53.

An Evening with Jim Brickman: 
Brickman's last scheduled appearance was canceled due to weather but he is slated to perform 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Stephen's Auditorium.

Iowa State Basketball:
 Both the men's and women's ISU basketball teams play Saturday at the Hilton Coliseum. The women face Texas Tech at 1 p.m. and the men play Baylor at 7 p.m. Women's tickets are $5 to $12 and Men's tickets are $10 to $25.

David Zollo: 
David Zollo and the Body Electric will perform 9 p.m Saturday at the Maintenance Shop. Tickets are $10 to $12 at the door. Students receive a discount.

The Second City: Laughing Matters: Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world's best and brightest. Their alumni list includes: Joan Rivers, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. No topic or subject matter is off limits for The Second City.

Taylor Swift: 
Country star Taylor Swift returns to Wells Fargo Arena on Aug. 1. No word yet on ticket prices or an on-sale date. The event is listed on Swift's website but is not listed on Ticketmaster or its partner website. In nearby Kansas City, MO tickets range from $30 to $85.

Justin Bieber: 
Pop star Justin Bieber will also make an appearance at the Wells Fargo Arena on July 7. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets range from $40 to $95.
