Jingle in the Junction Merchant Open Houses Beginning Thursday in Valley Junction Showcase Small Businesses

Merchants in the historic West Des Moines shopping district are also looking for a "miracle" – and you can help.

The Historic Valley Junction Foundation’s annual Jingle in the Junction starts Thursday and continues for the next two consecutive Thursdays as shopkeepers in the locally owned businesses in the district offer special deals from 5 to 9 p.m.

The district is lined with 150,000 twinkling white lights through the holiday season. Old favorites – such as free horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa and caroling – are offered again during each Jingle in the Junction event.

This year, the fimerchant open houses are coupled with Miracle on 5th Street, a drive to collect food and personal care items for West Des Moines Human Services, which serves community residents in need.

A full list of items needed is listed on the Historic Valley Junction Foundation web site.
