DART Resuming Bus Service As Planned After Draco; Express Routes Suspended for Remainder of Thursday

Three express routes in West Des Moines won't run.

From a news release:

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority is confirming that bus service will resume at 11:45 a.m. this morning. Local routes will depart from DART Central Station at that time. Express bus routes will be suspended for the remainder of the day. All services will be operating on Friday.

That means folks using the Westown Express Route, the Vista Express Route and the E.P. True Express Route will need to find another way to get around town.

The National Weather Service’s blizzard warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. today. If bus travel is essential during that time, bus riders are advised to dress warmly and wait for the bus in safe, visible areas. Poor road conditions will likely require bus operators to slow down for safe travel, causing delays in the schedule.

DART will continue to provide updates on its service throughout the day today. Riders are advised to check DART’s website at www.ridedart.com.
