Jingle in the Junction!

Historic Valley Junction will hold its annual Jingle in the Junction Holiday Open House events on Thursday, December 5 and December 12. The businesses in Historic Valley Junction and the streets will be lined with over 150,000 twinkling lights.

In addition, the Jingle in the Junction celebrations will include FREE horse-drawn trolley rides. There will also be merchant events and specials, caroling provided by local groups, holiday food vendors and live reindeer.  Many new events this year will be offered, including Mistletoe Bingo, fire performances by Professor Prometheus’ Combustible Circus, and ice carving demonstrations by Bill Gordish.  A food and personal care drive will be held from now until December 12 to benefit West Des Moines Booster Pak.

This event wouldn’t be complete without…Santa and Mrs. Claus! Our favorite holiday celebrities will be visiting Historic Valley Junction for each Holiday Open House. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be listening to wishes at the West Des Moines Community Center, 217 5th Street, in Historic Valley Junction.

Performance groups – church choirs, Girl Scout troops, youth groups, instrumental and vocal performers – are encouraged and needed to complete the holiday mood along the streets of this historic business district. Groups may perform at any of the three scheduled events, with several locations still available. Groups or individuals interested in performing should contact Jamie Lamb at office@valleyjunction.com or (515) 222-3642.

Historic Valley Junction is six blocks of specialty shops that include art galleries, antique shops, fashion boutiques, salons, service businesses and restaurants. Most of the shops will be open until 9:00 the evenings of the Holiday Open House.
