National Mentoring Month: 'I Am A Mentor' Social Media Day

Did you know January is National Mentoring Month? Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa is excited for this opportunity to thank our mentors (Bigs), and celebrate and raise awareness for mentoring.

In honor of National Mentoring Month, today is “I Am A Mentor” Social Media Day.

How can you can be involved? It’s easy! Share your mentoring experience with others on social media, like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. Be sure to tag Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa or other mentoring programs you’re involved with in your post. You can even change your social media profile picture to this awesome mentoring badge.

We know mentoring changes lives for the better. Studies have shown that kids that have been mentored for 12 months or more felt more confident about doing their schoolwork, skipped fewer school days, had higher grades, and were less likely to start using drugs or alcohol.
