ENCORE: Exotic Dancer Tells West Des Moines Police 'So-Called Friend' Ripped Her Off

Woman reports $1,300 was stolen – her earnings for her shift as a dancer at a gentleman's club – as she slept.

An 18-year-old West Des Moines woman who dances at a strip club told Saturday that “a so-called” friend robbed her of $1,300 – her earnings from the previous evening – while she slept.

The woman, an entertainer at Big Earl’s Gold Mine in Des Moines, told Officer Jason Hatcher that before her shift ended in the early morning hours, her friend – a 22-year-old Des Moines man – called and asked if he could spend the morning with her.

She agreed, picked him up at his brother’s residence and drove them to her West Des Moines apartment. According to Hatcher’s report, the friend wanted to be intimate, but “due to her exhaustion, she fell asleep.” When she awoke about 11 a.m. her friend was gone, and so were her earnings.

The man is unemployed and the victim told police she’s not sure where he lives. The case was forwarded to the police department’s detective bureau for investigation.
