Police Seek Public's Help to Find Missing 89-Year-Old Man

O.D. Hawkins, 89, left his West Des Moines home for dinner Tuesday night and didn't return home. Have you seen him or his car?

The West Des Moines Police Department is asking for the public’s help in trying to locate a missing elderly man.

Ona Denham (O.D.) Hawkins, 89, left his West Des Moines residence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7. West Des Moines Police Department spokesman Lt. Jim Barrett said Hawkins went to the Isaak Walton League for dinner and didn’t return home.

Hawkins was driving a red 1999 Saturn with the Iowa license plate ANW934.

Hawkins is 5’9”, weighs 185 pounds, has grey/white hair with green eyes. On Tuesday he was wearing a white baseball cap, blue plaid shirt, blue pants, black shoes and walks with a cane.

Anyone who sees Hawkins or his vehicle is asked to call their local law enforcement agency. You can reach the West Des Moines Police Department at 222-3320.
