West Des Moines Police Identify Convenience Store Shooting Suspect

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous; police ask the public not to approach him.

have issued an arrest warrant for Clifford Orris Jackson Jr., 18, in connection with a Sept. 10 and are asking the public’s help in locating him.

Jackson is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, West Des Moines Police Sgt. Ken O’Brien said in a news release. Anyone with information as to Jackson’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police department.

The warrant charges Jackson with attempted murder and first-degree robbery. Police were dispatched to the Kum & Go store, 5969 Ashworth Road, about 10:30 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found a clerk, Joshua Pugh, 34, had suffered a non-life threatening injury.
