Santorum to Thank Metro Supporters with July 11 Stop in Windsor Heights

The Republican who all but made Iowa his home during the caucus campaign season is returning July 11 to thank metro area supporters.

Rick Santorum, who won the Iowa Caucus, will hold a thank you meet-and-greet barbecue picnic for Iowa supporters at 5:30 p.m. July 11 in Windsor Heights, the final stop on his sweep through the state. The event will be held in Colby Park, 6900 School St., Windsor Heights.

Also on July 11, he will take part in a press event with a couple of metro area GOP party leaders. Santorum will take part in an 11 a.m. press conference with former Iowa RNC Committeewoman Kim Lehman of Johnston, Iowa RNC Committeeman Steve Scheffler of West Des Moines, and The FAMiLY Leader CEO Bob Vander Plaats.

The event will take place at the BioVenture Building, 2500 Crosspark Road in Coralville.

That day Santorum will be the special guest at a breakfast reception for Walt Rogers, the Republican state representative for Cedar Falls. Rogers, the incumbent, is being challenged by Democrat Bob Greenwood.

The breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. at New Aldaya Lifescapes, 7511 University Ave.

On July 10, Santorum will appear at a fundraiser for Republican First District Congressional candidate Ben Lange. Lange, , is challenging incumbent Democrat Bruce Braley.

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Ron and Rebecca Herrig in Dubuque.

The Cedar Falls stop is a new addition to Santorum's itinerary. He will also be stopping in Iowa City, Coralville, Bettendorf and Windsor Heights.
