Schneider, New State Senator from West Des Moines, Takes Oath of Office

Republican Charles Schneider was elected to represent Senate District 22 in a special election last month.

A news release from the Iowa Senate Republican Caucus:

The 86th General Assembly convened today at the Capitol and among the important items on the Legislature’s agenda was the swearing in of new legislators. 

Senator Charles Schneider (R-West Des Moines) was elected to a four-year term in the Iowa Senate in a special election in the newly-established District 22 which encompasses Polk County.

“I’m ready to get to work in the Senate,” said Schneider.  “I’ll work hard to help create jobs, grow our economy and pass sound fiscal policy for the state.”  Schneider will serve as Ranking Member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and will also serve on the Senate Commerce, Economic Growth and Veterans Committees.
