Meet New School Board Members at Sept. 23 Reception

Two new West Des Moines school board members Tali Greenspon and Vicky Poole. will be sworn into office Tuesday, Sept. 23. 

A reception for new and outgoing members will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the Walnut Creek Campus, 1020 Eighth St., according to a story on the West Des Moines Community Schools web site.

They will join David Brown, Kevin Carroll, H. Milton Cole, Andi Lipman and newly re-elected and current Board President Elizabeth Brennan. Jill Hansen and Mark Lagomarcino will be retiring from the school board after serving 10 and four years, respectively. More information about the board is found on the school district's web site

Tali Greenspon, 5730 Red Bud Way, West Des Moines, has lived in the district for 21 years. She is owner of Advantage Industries and is an account executive at Competitive Edge. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with marketing minor from Drake University. She and her husband, David, have three children. Their oldest, Ellie, attends Jordan Creek Elementary.

Vicky Poole, 12844 Clark St., Clive, has been a resident of the district for 13 years. She is the retired principal of Valley High School, a position she held for 15 years. She holds a doctorate in education from Drake University. She has two children and six grandchildren. Poole is a member of the City of Clive Board of Adjustment, Clive Public Art Advisory Commission, Clive Citizen Review Committee, Simpson College Education Advisory and West Des Moines Leadership Academy Board.
