West Des Moines Rotary Club Gives Away More Bikes, Seeks Donations to Serve More Needy Kids

Crestview counselor "loved seeing the smiles on the faces of the students and their family members."

A press release from the Rotary Club of West Des Moines:

Twenty students at received bicycles courtesy of the Rotary Club of West Des Moines on March14. Bicycles were donated by West Des Moines residents and the Des Moines Bicycle Collective. Rotary club members inspected the bicycles and made needed repairs before they were given to the students. Each student also received a new helmet. 

Harold Hulleman, Rotary Club secretary, said the group wants to schedule more bicycle giveaways for needy West Des Moines elementary youth, but more bicycle donations are needed.

Residents having bicycles to donate can drop them off at , 5950 Village View Drive, or at , 301 Grand Avenue, both in West Des Moines. To have a bicycle picked up at your home, contact Hulleman at 224-4062. Donations are tax deductible; a receipt will be issued

Crestview Counselor Terri Fritz commented: “Thank everybody for their work and assistance. I loved seeing the smiles on the faces of the students and their family members.”
