Cyclones v. Hawkeyes Football Matchup to be a Night Game Affair this Year

The 2013 CyHawk matchup will be played in Ames. Who will pull out the win this year?

The Iowa Hawkeyes football team likely will not be playing many night games this upcoming season, but they've got one they can look forward to this fall -- a battle against their rival Iowa State Cyclones.

According to the official Iowa athletics website the game will be held on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. It will be televised on the new Fox Sports 1 network that will be launching in August.

However, the Cyclones’ first four games will be played under the lights, including the Big 12 Conference season-opener against Texas, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 in Ames, according to the Des Moines Register.

Iowa is looking to avenge itself for their loss last year in a 9-6 barnburner of a game at Kinnick Stadium that would epitomize Iowa's offensive struggles for much of the rest of the season.
