West Des Moines Valley's Peter Jok, Hawkeye Recruit, Named Parade All-American

The Iowa shooting guard recruit from West Des Moines Valley continues to pick up accolades for his bounce back senior season.

Peter Jok's senior season at West Des Moines Valley didn't end the way we wanted, with a loss to West Des Moines Dowling preventing a trip to state.

However, his post season is going pretty well.

Months after being named the Mr. Basketball recipient for the state of Iowa, Jok, a 6 foot 6 inch guard was named to Parade's 2013 All-American list. The list was released by Parade this Saturday.

After an injury shortened high school career, Jok made up for lost time in his senior season shooting a blistering 42 percent from 3-point range and hit at a 92.6 percent clip from the free-throw line. This shooting proficiency led to Jok averaging 23.6 points per game.

He is expected to compete for playing time as a freshman on a Hawkeye team refreshingly loaded with quality depth after a solid 2012 season that ended with a run to the NIT finals.
