5 Effective "Must Do's" While Your Home Is Listed For Sale

Last week I talked about this being the time to sell your home. If you do go ahead and move forward with putting your home on the market, there are a few things you could do to sell your home more quickly. Many buyers these days are picky and want turn key homes, they do not want to envision what “could be”. Buyers want that to be done so all they have to do is move in their furniture. Here are some easy ways to stand out:

1.       Enhance Curb Appeal. Make your front yard warm and inviting. Taking care of your lawn shows that the homeowner takes care of their home. They are less likely to have any negative emotions towards the home. If you take care of the lawn, you in turn take care of the home.

2.       Clean. Make sure that your home is very clean and tidy before any showings. This may sound like a no brainer, but not always the case. Simply cleaning is a huge advantage. No dishes in the sink, no clothes on the floor and make the beds.

3.       De-Clutter. Clutter makes the home seem non-inviting. By de-cluttering it also opens up spaces to make it seem bigger and more open.

4.       Neutralize. Try to make the home seem inviting to any type of buyer. By that I mean, any personal styles or artwork that may not be a potential buyers style. You never know what type of buyer will be walking through the door. Making the space airy and neutral gives the buyer a more open canvas.

5.       Think Seasonally. If it is spring or summer and a nice day, open up the    windows and curtains and let the air flow. Give the potential buyers a great feel of what it would be like to actually live there.

These are simple tips that are cost effective and make you stand out during showings.
